UK Campaigners ask for leadership as the G8 turns its back on the 2010 Promise of Universal Access

In response to the Financial Times article on 29th June reporting that the G8 are set to abandon the 2010 commitment and may schedule the $60 billion over 8 years rather than 3, the Stop AIDS Campaign sent a letter to Gordon Brown and the DFID Ministers. UK Response to Ecumenical Advocacy letter to G8 leaders

Read below the letter addressed to Archbishop Desmond Tutu in response to the joint action by religious leaders to call G8 Heads of State to keep their promises made towards universal access by 2010, which was coordinated by the Ecumenical Advocacy Alliance (EAA).

The Stop AIDS Campaign has created a policy paper about the commitments that the G8 has made in regards to Universal Access targets. This paper highlights four critical areas: financing universal access, strengthening health systems,ensuring affordable medicines and supporting women and children, which Stop AIDS Campaign believes the G8 must deliver on in to turn Universal Access into a reality.
